Our baby is 2!

Gosh time flies...I know it is so cliche but sometimes I stop and remember how little Avery was and it amazes me how these girls change before our eyes. Little Lila Rose turned 2 and we had a wonderful birthday celebration. It was far from ordinary but we all had a blast. Friday we had lunch with some neighbor friends at Two Toots (Train restaurant) in Glen Ellyn. I rode my bike with the girls to the metra so that we could take the train there. They loved all of it! Saturday was her actual bday and we had a bday breakfast-pancakes (her fav) with syrup, sprinkles and cool whip. Opened up a few gifts and headed down to the lake. It was a gorgeous day so we went with Jim and Barb to the apple orchards! She loved the horses pulling the wagons, picking raspberries and pumpkin surfing. This was followed by a fun dinner at the irish pub-dinner, dancing, and the whole pub singing happy birthday to her! Again not a traditional celebration for a 2 year old :). Sunday finished up the weekend with family celebration for Lila and Alison. We had zizza (pizza) and a beautiful/yummy cake from Julie. We all had such a fun weekend-Avery enjoyed the parties and was so happy to share in the fun. She even wanted to shop for her bought her a little gift. Although a little piece of me is sad on their bdays I love having a reason to celebrate who they are and why we love them!
