We were running out of time to hit the slopes and miss another year of skiing with the kids and at last minute booked a trip to CO. I have to admit that I was kinda longing for a warm beach in the Caribbean, but having time together sounded great to me. Corey took the whole week off. Dont get me wrong he spent his fair share on the computer/phone, but we did get to see him! It amazes me how we repeat our adventures and yet they are still fun for everyone each time we do it. We visited the goats, went on horseback trail rides, skied, tried out the hot springs, hiked, threw rocks in the river, took many atv rides and collected pretty rocks and antler, rode on new tire horse swings, swam in the hot springs, visited the toy store and farm supply store, held baby chicks, ate like champs, searched for deer on the property and just hung together. I love that the kids get to get out, smell fresh air and explore new turf. They love it there and Corey and I do too...no matter what time of year it is! Thanks to mom for hanging with Elsie in the lodge-my highlight is proudly watching my "big girls" figure out skiing and enjoy it! (It helps when it is 60+ degrees out). Avery's highlight was her 1.5 hour trailride with cowgirl Jesse (yeah no joke) who let her lead her own horse for about half of it. Lila loved skiing and swimming and taking care of her baby doll who really peed...to her amazement. Corey's highlight was probably eating at Eddyline (pizza with homemade brew) and snowboarding...he may tell me differently later! Now back to our daily grind!
